Susan Vollmer is principal horn in the San Francisco Opera Center and of the Santa Cruz County Symphony. She also is a member of the Napa Valley Symphony and the Sacramento Philharmonic.

She is an active freelance performer with such groups as the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Ballet, San Jose Symphony, San Jose Opera and the Oakland East Bay Symphony. 

She has performed internationally with the Belgian National Symphony, the Israel Symphony, the Mexico City Philharmonic and Bolshoi Ballet.

Locally she has worked on commercial recordings at the Skywalker Ranch and Fantasy Studios.

Ms. Vollmer is a lecturer and instructor of horn at the University of California at Santa Cruz.

She also is an instructor at the University of California in their Young Musician Program.

She serves on the staff of Napa Valley Youth Symphony.
