A very special performance
featuring guest artists Brazzissimo

Contra Costa Wind Symphony's Season Opener spotlighted an appearance by Brazzissimo. This 10-piece brass group was a rare treat for the CCWS audience. Its full, yet crisp heraldic quality provided fresh insight into a variety of music from Meet BrazzissimoHowarth's majestic Processional Fanfare #1 to the whimsical Homage to the Noble Grape.

CCWS performed works with a Scottish theme including Philip Sparke's melodic Hymn of the Highlands and Jan Van der Roost's stirring A Highland Rhapsody.

The Wind Symphony and Brazzissimo complemented each other in the U.S. Premiere of Frigyes Hidas' intricate Concerto for Brass Quintet and Symphonic Band.
